What is the “Jerusalem Diet”

Check this Diet Out!!! A little unorthodox but definitely worth mentioning. The Jerusalem Diet consists of two kinds of days, “normal days” and “fat days.” On normal days, you can eat and drink whatever you like, and you are not required to exercise. That’s the best part! But the flip-side is on fat days, you eat only fruits, nuts, vegetables, and seeds, drink only water, and exercise for one hour. Doesn’t seem that bad…

The Jerusalem Diet is suppose to be a simple, do-able program for gradual weight loss. Perfect for those people who cannot stay focused on a long-term weight loss goals, or for those who are discouraged by how far they are from their ideal weight.  Focusing on more of a “one-day approach” rather than a long term outlook.  While the nutrition may be questionable, with the “eat what you want” normal days, Haggard insists that the small changes in lifestyle will eventually add up to wiser eating choices overall.

Singer Gwen Stefani is infamous for her toned abs, which she loves to show off whenever possible. Who could blame her? I would walk around naked if I looked like this hot 38 year old mother of one. Not only do I adore her toned and healthy looking body, but I respect that she honestly admits it takes sweat and commitment to maintain it. Gwen is definitely no stranger to hard work, she is rumored to work out at the gym 7 days a week. More power to her, I think even if I had the nanny and the personal chef, I still wouldn’t hit the gym that much. According to Shape Magazine, her workout routine includes lifting weights, cardio, and a little boxing. I loved Gwen’s candid explanation on the “secret” to staying slim:

” There aren’t any tricks. It’s simple math. You put this much food in your body, you burn that much working out.” - Shape Magazine

So simple, but so true. We spend tons of money each year on expensive gym memberships, personal trainers, and the latest diet/fitness trends. However, all you really need to do to lose weight, is eat less and move more!

Unlike most celebrities, we mere mortals usually can’t “squeeze- in” daily two hour gym sessions. Therefore, I’m always looking for quick exercise routines to share with all of you die hard FitCeleb readers. This NFL inspired routine, which burns 60 calories, was created by Former NFL player Bobby Neely. The move is supposed to mimic a defender pulling a player back. Even if your are not a football fan, it’s a fun and quick way to up your daily calorie burn. Also, if any of you readers happen to be football widows like me, it’s a great way to bond with your honey during halftime. All you need is a partner, a resistance cord, and 10 minutes.

  1. Have your partner stand, in squatting position, behind you. He or she should hold the resistance cables around your waist.
  2. Next, sprint ahead while pumping your arms and lifting your knees, while your partner simultaneously tries to pull you back.
  3. Finally, swap positions. Continuously repeat this activity for 10 minutes.
