Man Sets Record in Hot Dog Eating Contest

Joey Chestnut set a record by chomping down a whopping 68 hot dogs on July 4. Wow, my stomach sinks just thinking about it!

Chestnut, 25, took his game up a few notches at Coney Island's annual Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. He beat his long-time rival and six-time titleholder Takeru Kobayashi and immediately thrust his fist in the air with pride the second he knew he had won.

"This is great," Chestnut told ESPN, which broadcast the 10-minute contest live. "After the second minute, I knew that my body was cooperating and it was going to be hard to beat me."

Surprisingly, Chestnut admitted he still had room for dinner that night but planned to keep the menu on the lighter side, opting for a cobb salad.
