Airwalk raises $10,000 for The Surfrider Foundation and Music for Relief!
Monday, January 25th, 2010 @ 1:00pm
Back in November, Airwalk launched ‘Airwalk Doing Your Part,’ a unique program that let anyone donate $1 to one of two selected charities. Airwalk made donating easy: all that was required was to log on to the project’s micro site, www.airwalk.com/doingyourpart, where the visitor had to submit their e-mail address to get their dollar and choose which organization to donate to. From there, Airwalk would submit $1 on the visitor’s behalf to either The Surfrider Foundation (www.surfrider.org) or Music for Relief (www.musicforrelief.org). Airwalk is pleased to announce that it has officially wrapped Doing Your Part and will be donating a total of $10,000 to these two charities!
Over the next week, Airwalk will donate $2,700 to The Surfrider Foundation. The organization works to protect oceans and coastlines worldwide using research, activism and education. The Surfrider Foundation started in Southern California in 1984 but has since expanded globally to include 50,000 members and 90 chapters.
Airwalk will also donate $7,300 to Music for Relief. Founded by rock band Linkin Park, Music for Relief provides aid to victims of natural disasters. Since its inception, Music for Relief has raised $3 million for those affected by disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the 2005 tsunami that devastated much of Southeast Asia.Take This Class Forum
