Should Gabourey Sidibe Be Worried About Her Health?
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 @ 9:58am
One wieght loss company thinks so. They offered Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe a year's worth of their diet pill to help the actress lose weight.
The company is AssaiSupply, and the CEO of the company wrote this to Gabourey:
"The only way you can reach your goal of someday winning that Oscar is by being active, fit and most of all, healthy!"
Ouch! I mean I'm concerned for the girl's health as well, but they could have wrote something a little bit nicer. AssaiSupply's publicist Kevin Blatt tells PopEater,
"We have seen a large increase in sales today, but we have not yet heard from Ms. Sidibe. We are really hoping to. We want to help her maintain a healthy lifestyle. She has amazing potential, Oprah believes in her, and she could someday be on that stage accepting an Oscar. We can only put it out there for her, we hope she takes us up on our offer."
Howard Stern had made an attack on the actress about her weight and health last week, but explained his point saying,
"The point I was trying to make is that obesity in this country is out of control. What's really sad is that you do see people now saying it's OK to be this heavy, you have to love your own body, and you have to embrace it," he said.
Glamour's Model Recipe For Its June Issue
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 @ 9:38am
Combine one Victoria's Secret model, one Sports Illustrated model, and one plus-size model - and what do you get? The cover for Glamour's June issue!
Victoria's Secret's Alessandra Ambrosio, Sports Illustrated's Brooklyn Decker, and the most talked about plus-size model Crystal Renn all sported bikinis in St. Barth's at the mag's photoshoot. Tell you the truth, Renn doesn't even look plus-size, she looks average.
The three ladies are all gorgeous - and check out Ambrosio doing what seems to be a handstand against a tree. Wonder if that photo (of the actual handstand) will make it into the issue!

Ryan Gosling Is Ruffling McDonald's Feathers
Monday, March 15th, 2010 @ 1:00pm
Usually it's a PETA activist making noise about the abuse of animals, but actor Ryan Gosling (who may not be vegetarian) is ticked off at the way McDonald's abuses their chickens - and rightfully so.
On behalf of PETA, Gosling wrote a letter to the CEO of McDonald's, Jim Skinner (kind of ironic about his last name, don't you think?!) to stop using an outdated methond on killing their chickens. Here's what he wrote (via Faded Youth):
Dear Mr. Skinner,
I was shocked to learn from my friends at PETA that McDonald’s, a company that claims to be an industry leader in animal welfare, still allows its suppliers to use an outdated chicken slaughter method that results in broken wings and legs and causes birds to be scalded to death in defeathering tanks.
Many of McDonald’s suppliers in Europe already use a much more humane slaughter method that eliminates the worst cruelty. What’s your excuse?
Because no federal laws govern the treatment of chickens during slaughter, the responsibility lies in your company’s hands to create and maintain a high standard of animal welfare. I hope you will agree that the time has come for McDonald’s to truly take action to reduce the suffering of chickens killed for its restaurants. I look forward to hearing your decision.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
