It's that dreaded eight-letter word that every woman fears and loathes: anorexia.

While achieving super stardom is often hailed as the archetypal dream, it often comes with unwanted territory. Critic after critic will gladly tear celebrities to shreds and it is up to the individual to survive and come out from the water with extra breath. Yes; easier said than done!

European pop-singing sisters The Cheeky Girls became anorexic after their record company, Telstar, went bankrupt back in 2001. Monica and Gabriela Irimia were surviving off a dangerous 500 calories a day.

I started to see myself as fat, so I copied her. I wanted my stomach to be flat like hers," Gabriela told The Mail. "Mum didn't notice - we were still eating healthy food albeit in tiny portions. In the end, I would feel full with a small amount because my stomach had shrunk. I caught up with Monica quickly."

Monica also put in her two cents:

We knew we had a big problem but although we didn't coerce one another into not eating, we knew we would cover up for the other if necessary. Once anorexic you always have an awareness of what you are eating but now we can control this so it doesn't control us. We don't want vulnerable young women to make the same mistake that we did."

Glad to hear they are back on the only road to happiness there is: healthy!

The insanely fit Kelly Ripa was spotted alongside her equally fit and handsome hubby Mark Consuelos at the Hampton Classic Horse Show 2009 at Bridgehampton Showgrounds on Sunday (August 30).

These two certainly get around the hub. They recently started their own production company, MILOJO Productions which is named after the first two letters of each of their children's names (Michael, Lola, and Joaquin). How creative and adorable? Just goes to show that they really do put their family at the top of the totem pole!

The always-active Matthew McConaughey was spotted at the beach with girlfriend Camila Alves and their son, Levi, in Malibu, California on Sunday (August 30).

The trio enjoyed a fun-filled day of leisure and laughter with Matthew's mother, Kay, his step-father, and Camila's mother.
