Jeremy Piven: Devout Yogi?
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 @ 8:25am
Until recently, Piven hadn't been so open to the idea of his latest love: yoga. In fact, he sort of jumped the gun and pre-judged it.
He thought "you have to wear a leotard. I mean, do you have to wear a bindi and hold incense," Piven says in the August issue of Men's Fitness.
Now, however, the Entourage stud can't get enough of it.
"I loved the way it made me feel. It opens you out and you get great twang. It's incredible. Ari's got some quick-twitch anger, and to do that repeatedly you have to come from a place of stillness. It´s so funny because I´m naturally kind of calm. To be healthy you have to have those dualities in your life."
The issue of Men's Fitness hits stands July 13.

Man's Best Friend Sniffs Health Problems
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 @ 8:11am
A study conducted by Queen's University in Belfast delved deeper into this rare circumstance by investigating reports from dog owners who said their pets made some sort of commotion via barking, licking, or nuzzling when they had a hypglycemic attack.
212 dog owners, all of whom had Type 1 diabetes (an autoimmune disorder that prevents the body from producing insulin), were surveyed. 65 percent of the owners said their dog displayed a behavioral reaction to at least one of their hypoglycemic episodes.
The dogs got their owners’ attention by barking and whining, (61.5 percent), licking (49.2 percent), nuzzling (40.6 percent), jumping on top of them (30.4 percent), and/or staring intently at their faces (41.3 percent).
