Betty Crocker Jumps on Gluten-Free Bandwagon
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 @ 12:57pm
After two of Betty Crocker's employees discovered they needed to turn their diets upside down by going gluten-free, the company made it a mission to come up with a gluten-free line of products.
But the road to success was not easy. From September to December, food scientists for General Mills (the brand that owns Betty Crocker) baked over 1,000 pans of brownies, cookies and cakes while conducting nearly 75 experiments with different formulations. That's alot of taste-testing!
Now that Betty Crocker has nailed down making products tasty sans gluten, they plan to release more gluten-free goodies (including frosting!) this fall.
The goods, seen in select grocery shelves, include mixes for brownies, cookies, devil's food cake and yellow cake - all of which are manufactured in a gluten-free facility.

K-Fed Being Called K-Fatter-Line
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 @ 12:29pm
Kevin Federline (a.k.a. K-Fed), or known as Britney Spears' ex-husband, has been gaining weight over the past few months. Weighing in at 150 pounds when he married the pop star Britney in 2004, he now weighns in at 235 - that's a total of 85 pounds in five years.
According to Celebitchy, K-Fed used to call Britney names at the dinner table about her weight, but it seems the tables have now turned, and Britney is pulling out the names like K-Fatter-Line and comments like:
“She’ll ask him, ‘When is the baby due?’” revealed a source.
The National Enquirer had reported on July 13, 2009:
“Britney called him ‘a fat housewife,’ and he just laughed, said the source.
“He says he’s gained weight because he is happy and content, but Britney says he is just fat and lazy…
“Britney insisted he go on a diet and stop showing their kids it’s OK to be fat and sloppy,” said the source…
“Kevin was more than irritated by Britney’s diet demand, but he’s going along with it for now…
“Kevin says he doesn’t have to worry about his looks,” said the source, “because women still love him.”

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 @ 12:15pm
Host Stephen Colbert from The Stephen Colbert Report, gets a few lessons in military training. It's a re-Report of the Lost Treasures of Babylon, which shows Stephen in basic training at Fort Jackson, flying with the Thunderbirds, and putting care packages together with Tom Hanks. Stephen isn't the most athletic, but he sure is funny!
Tom Hanks even gives Stephen words of encourgagement toward the end of the segment.
Panera Bread Buddies
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 @ 12:01pm
So I finally have something in common with Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron - Panera Bread! These two were seen out-and-about for dinner at the restaurant Saturday (July 4th) in Studio City, California. What no bbq guys, no greasy hotdogs and hamburgers?
I like Panera Bread for their salads, and a great place to work from on my lap top, better than some overcrowded coffee shop!
