Michael Jackson's Cardiologist Promoted Poor Health?
Monday, July 6th, 2009 @ 10:11pm
According to Life & Style magazine, it has been confirmed that Michael Jackson's cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray, once promoted an energy drink called Pit Bull.
The doc was seen partying it up in Trinidad and Tobago in 2005 with a bunch of models while holding his new drink.
Model Maggie Goldstein, 36, who was at the party, tells Life & Style, "The doctor liked to party hard and loved hanging out and flirting with the models at the carnival.
"We were all drinking Pit Bull mixed with gin, and the party went on for 12 hours. He was dating one of the girls who was a lot younger than him."
"I did think it was a little strange for a heart specialist to be promoting an energy drink," Maggie continues, "but he told us he had invested in it, and he had hired all the girls, so I didn't ask too many questions."

On The Spot Relaxation
Monday, July 6th, 2009 @ 10:04pm
According to Real Simple magazine, all you need are six "mini-breaks" a day to take a ride on the relaxation express!
Turn your shower into a relaxing ritual.
Keep your speedy suds-up-and-rinse routine, but add a small pampering element to upgrade an everyday shower into a spa experience. Trade your plain old soap for a rich body wash (pick a fragrance that reminds you of a favorite place). Or try a scented shower infuser. Toss a tablet on the tub floor; as it dissolves in the water, it will fill your bathroom with its aroma. “Take a few slow, deep diaphragmatic breaths to help calm your nervous system and ease stress,” says Amit Sood, M.D., director of research for the Integrative Medicine Program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
RS pick: Bath by Bettijo Sweet Peppermint Shower Infuser, $36, bathbybettijo.com.
Knead away stress with a hand massage.
Man Sets Record in Hot Dog Eating Contest
Monday, July 6th, 2009 @ 9:55pm
Chestnut, 25, took his game up a few notches at Coney Island's annual Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. He beat his long-time rival and six-time titleholder Takeru Kobayashi and immediately thrust his fist in the air with pride the second he knew he had won.
"This is great," Chestnut told ESPN, which broadcast the 10-minute contest live. "After the second minute, I knew that my body was cooperating and it was going to be hard to beat me."
Surprisingly, Chestnut admitted he still had room for dinner that night but planned to keep the menu on the lighter side, opting for a cobb salad.

Sandra Bullock Thanks Strict Mom For Fitness
Monday, July 6th, 2009 @ 11:48am
Sandra Bullock is grateful her mother pushed her into playing sports when she was younger - because it gave her a toned body. The Speed actress was forced to undertake gruelling gymnastics and dance classes by her mom, and admits she hated it at the time.
But she is now glad her mother made her so active as a teenager, because it has given her a lifelong love of fitness. Bullock tells WENN,
"You know what, I have to say, Helga Bullock - a very strict German woman - forced me in to gymnastics and dance at a young age. I hated her for it. I then continued to other athletics and now I'm thankful for what she started, it's something that I can keep doing... I think it ebbs and flows, I gain 20 pounds, I lose 20 pounds... I'm lucky that my mother instilled something to me, it's kind of still sticking."
Harry Potter Broadening His Skill Set
Monday, July 6th, 2009 @ 11:46am
Daniel Radcliffe is taking ballet classes in a bid to branch out from his most famous role as bespectacled wizard Harry Potter. The actor is currently shooting Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final instalment in the hit franchise, and is already mapping out his career to keep from being typecast in future roles. He's making an effort to broaden his skill set, taking twice-weekly classes with his English teacher despite already finishing his formal education.
And he has even signed up for dance lessons - so that he can compete with talented, young actors vying for the same movie parts. Radcliffe tells Esquire magazine,
"I'm learning the basics of ballet. The things is, in a few years I'll be 21, 22, and that's when all the guys who've been at drama school will come out.
They've been learning dance or singing and all that stuff, and I'm going to need to compete with them because I won't have Harry Potter as my safety net anymore. I need to make myself as viable a choice for any part as I possibly can."
