Jane Fonda: Massive Heart Attack "Is Probably The Kindest Death For Michael"
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 @ 11:33pm
Jane Fonda blogged about her feelings on Michael Jackson's death, and to her a massive heart attack was probably the best way for Michael to go. She wrote:
"I think about death all the time. I rehearse my death. I think that’s a healthy thing to do. Death, after all, is what gives life meaning the way noise gives meaning to silence. Ooooh, I thought to myself, Michael will have a hard time of it as he ages. He will spend all his energy trying to flee what is inevitable. And now it’s happened. I like the fact that it was quick. Massive heart attacks that you don’t recover from are quick. You don’t know what hit you. That’s probably the kindest death for Michael. It’s hard to imagine him being happy as he aged. One more demon to try and evade. I like to think he’s happy now, free of his demons. Free and floating and knowing how his art continues to be revered and celebrated by all of us all over the world. It will continue."

Not Your Ordinary Ford Taurus!
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 @ 2:44pm
OK, I know this has nothing to do with health, but when I went to the Summer House this year in Nantucket, I had the privilege to test out the new 2010 Ford Taurus!
Actually, my first car was a 1989 Ford Taurus and the 2010 Taurus is far from what the new ones look like! With spacious room in both front and back seats, it will make any drive comfortable - AND if as if that's not comfortable enough, both front seats have a massage chair. Yup, you can get a lumbar (lower back) and/or butt massage -- just don't get too relaxed behind the wheel!
" Ford’s industry-exclusive Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion™ offer 11 air cushions to provide a subtle massage that can reduce muscle tension by up to 60 percent"
Other features include: bold new headlights combined with recessed parking lamps frame a new expression of the signature Ford three-bar grille – and the lowered roofline helps make the new Taurus more aspirational.
Inside, a forward-leaning center stack – home to the climate controls, audio components and available navigation screen – flows in a continuous unbroken form through the instrument panel and down into the center console.

Johnny Depp & Roast Pork Are Bad For Chinese Moral Health?
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 @ 12:49pm
In an attempt to censor pornographic and violent images in China from all personal computers, Bejing has ordered as of July 1 that all personal computers will have been preinstalled with Green Dam software blocking this sort of content.
However, when the software is installed and the image scanner is activated, "it blocks even harmless images of a film poster for cartoon cat Garfield, dishes of flesh-colour cooked pork and on one search engine a close-up of film star Johnny Depp's face." The software doesn't detail how it filters its content.
The software also may block useful health education sites relating to sexual health and AIDS education. Even categories like "gay" and "illegal activities" may be filtered.
What do you think about the Green Dam software, too controlling?
