Product Review: Flavor Magic Portion Control Sheets

I can't cook, just ask my mother! I have no patience and everything I flavor, I end up making myself sick...future boyfriends beware! Anyway, I ended up trying this product called Flavor Magic Portion Control Sheets, which are portion sized sheets that are designed to hold a 3-5 ounce portion of protein food (fish, chicken, beef, pork, tofu). On a side note, I forgot how much smaller real portion sized pieces of meat are (about the size of a deck of cards) - but this is great, especially for those watching what they eat!
These sheets are covered with a lower sodium, all natural spice blend - I used the Honey Dijon Mustard flavor and LOVED it! I have to admit I was skeptical at first because some of these healthy pre-flavored things are either flavorless, or have some weird chemical flavor aftertaste - but this was shockingly really really good. Of course, I wanted to eat more than one portion, but than that would defeat the purpose.
Not only is it really good, and healthy, but it's extremely easy to do. As a busy person I don't have time to cook, much less time to prepare something to cook. With these sheets they are pre-cut for you into the portion size, already flavored - so all I did was buy the individually wrapped breast of chicken, cut it to the portion sized sheet, wrapped the meat and flavored sheet in saran wrap, let it sit in the refrigerator for about an hour and a half (had to run some errands) - came back, unwrapped it, and grilled it! In about 10 minutes I had flavorable chicken. I made steamed string beans and a baked potato to complete the meal, but I'm thinking next time, throw the honey dijon chicken over a salad...mmmm, delish!
These portion control sheets come in flavors like Honey Dijon Mustard, Riviera Tomato & Basil, Garlic Citrus Teriyaki and Zesty Cajun-Creole.

this will help with size control
This sounds like the perfect thing to keep me on track with my dinners -- they get out of hand sometimes and I have no idea if I'm eating enough or too much... now I'll know (I have a feeling it's too much!)
Where did you find these? I see they have not shipped to store locations yet. Great find!
When my husband is away... which is a lot... I tend still to cook for two and then eat for two. This is a perfect way to remind me what a single portion actually is. Where can I find this product?
These look really awesome! I am sure I always overestimate a serving - so these would really help. It is cool they are already flavored which saves on time.
I heard but cannot substantiate that these are actually made out of dehydrated gnome dreams and dishydrogenated five-carbon sugars.
These can be found at limited stores (like the Amish Market near Union Square in nyc) but the best way to purchase them as of now is online http://www.portioncontrol.net/flavors.php, which you can also find a retailer from that same page. Hope this helps!
I think this product has just come out, since I can’t find it in stores. I ordered it online from www.PortionControl.net since they offer free shipping. It’s definitely a why-didn’t-I-think-of-that product, and it really helps me with daily portion control, while making my cooking easier and tastier. I LOVE THEM. It’s really a nifty idea, and I recommend it if you like cooking at home but are struggling with eating right.
So, you have to remove the sheet before cooking? I thought it would just disappear into the meat...
